I thought that the CR list members would enjoy this additional comment about this bike. In the early 1970s I was taken by the Masi mystique and went to Milan where I bought a Masi GC from Faliero himself. In 1974 , I had the good fortune to attend the World Cycling Championships in Montreal and where MASI USA supplied the backup bikes for the amateur and pro road races. I took some great photos,one which was the MASI USA crew loading a pickup truck with beautiful MASI USA bikes in various colors. Always a Masi fan, I remember having a spec sheet with Masi color choices but that pearl yellow was not of them and later found out that very, very few of these bikes were painted that color. One of the backup bikes that I photographed was a pearl yellow one looking very similar as the one on Ebay in terms of height. Could this bike have been Masi Carlsbad number one,who knows? Incidentally,for those Bianchi fans -Bianchi supplied the backup bikes for the team trial event.Norm Hellman in New York,still riding my Masi GC at 60.
