Well, we were starving students way back then. Susan's engagement present was a (used) Atala. Pre-record hubs, Columbus DB, forged steel cranks... It still belongs to friends. She doesn't have a diamond yet. Hmmm. 40 years... Nah. We're doing L'Eroica instead. :-) Rita Freitas says Tuscani/Chianti is really romantic.

As I told a fellow lister offlist, I suppose beauty is where you find it and worth what you're willing to pay for it, but were I to take my wife's engagement ring and swap out the diamond with a JOS bauble, I'd have some serious explainin' to do, despite the JOS's marginally larger size!
