Norm, On my SC #4848 the number reads properly from the drive side and the number is stamped on the non drive side. My bike was purchased in 1970 and may have been in the dealers stock for some time but not since 1948. Roland Porter, Hinsdale, illinois

\r?\n> on the underside of the BB on the non drive side. With the bike upside

\r?\n> down and reading from the non drive side the s/n is 6089. In reviewing

\r?\n> the Cinelli registry, I noticed the same s/n assigned to a 1955 SC. I

\r?\n> thought this was peculiar then it dawned on me that if I read the s/n

\r?\n> from the drive side it would be 6809. What is the correct way to read

\r?\n> the s/n? Also, does the s/n actually mean something...i.e. if it really

\r?\n> is 6809, would this indicate 1968?
