I second Art Zeus hubs were the smoothest cup and come, easily as good as a Campag. What else comes to mind is Edco headset, very well done. Royce of course in the 80s, still running and do some amazing bottom bracket and hubs, still threaded for freewheel! Some companies that tried but didn't come close: Ofmega, I never had good experience for them. Omas headsets, were so poorly done, that sometimes cleaning was required once a month, for all the dearth coming in.
