I get those fake PayPal letters too, as well as letters purporting to be from eBay. I forward them as received to: spoof@paypal.com or spoof@ebay.com I get a reply right back telling me they are not from PayPal or eBay, but are phishing letters. They tell you what to do if you inadvertently reply to one of them.

I must be on some list because I also get letters from Nigeria offering to share a 50 million dollar legacy with the lovely, lonely, grief stricken, nubile young daughter of the deceased who wants to come to the US to meet me in person. If I give them my bank account information so they can transfer the money out of Nigeria, they will allow me to keep 10% for my trouble because I’m such a nice guy. Truth is I’m not such a nice guy, and if I could get my hands on them, I would do bad things to them. I’ve also been notified that I’ve won the Irish Sweepstakes and other international lotteries. If that were true, I’d buy up all the KOF bikes and cycling memorabilia for sale and open a museum. Lotta crooks out there.
