Hi list members, does anyone have a picture of a original mid sixties Gillot for decal reference. The frame and fork I recently purchased on EBay has suffered from a very poor repaint. I can see fairly large patches of the original silver where the new paint has peeled off {for instance under the Reynolds decal on the seat tube} . I have a feeling it is the Tour De Bretagne model, but I am not completely sure. The frame number dates it as a 1965, however Gillot production was fairly low by this point so anything from 1963 ish to 1967 would be help full . It is a British take on a Italian racing frame, very simple long point lugs, semi sloping fork crown, and a seat stay treatment very similar to my 1962 Bianchi, all built with meticulous Ron Cooper workmanship. Anything I have found on Gillott tends to focus on the truly classic 1946 to late 50's products. This frame is not in that league, however it is very nice in it's own right, and deserves an accurate refinish. Thanks Greg Lone Langley B.C. Canada
