I think SunTour's only "crime" was in failing to sponsor famous name, European race teams. The derailleurs themselves were works of genius. (At least in my estimation.)

It's peculiar in a way, too. Think about how many bikes in the early 1970s had their original derailleurs replaced by SunTour VGT pieces; and how many bikes had their original shift levers raplaced by SunTour BarCons. Yet, today, in the name of originality, this stuff gets replaced by the original inferior parts. Cheers, Fred Rednor - Arlington, Virginia (USA)
