Troops:

I have been watching this tread since I just got back from RAGBRAI ( 500 miles of utter bliss ). One of my 60 yr old buddies brought his Surley Cross Check, a 2X6 with black plastic fenders and all. Please keep in mind this guy is 3 time Paris, Brest, Paris finisher. he is 5'9" 145 lbs.

You can talk about all the plastic fantastic stuff, steel stuff ot Titanium you want but it is still the guy who is mashing the pedals.

My friend Steve was leading the Parade all week with the smoothest of pedal strokes blowing away guys with 20 speeds with his little 2X6. It was truly a wonderful thing to watch. So stay in shape you never know what little 60 + yr old on a green beater will blow right past you.

It ain't the frame it's the MAN!

I also liked Phil Brown's Comment... Both Steve and I did't have extra piece of plastic hanging form our bikes ,,, The Damn Speedodometer!

Since I removed the speedos frrom my bikes I don't care any mone. Phil Brown Blissfully ignorant in San rafael, Calif
