Howdy, all-

I recently spotted a bike in another mechanic's stand at work, and decided to check it out...much too my mingled joy & dismay, it was a Motobecane 'Team Champion'- kitted out with baskets, pletscher rack, tourist bars- the whole grocery-getter ensemble! I talked with it's owner, who was completely aware of her steed's proud heritage (she even knew who Luis Ocana was!). She loves the bike , and was easily persuaded to drop some cash on some badly-needed maintenance (she even got rid of the horrible rack, and got a Blackburn instead). I guess not all good bikes go to heaven; but at least this one gets ridden every day. If I did it right, here is a link to some pics I took of it: http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/bb172/curmudgeon1957/S6300082.jpg I have posted a number of nice items to e-bay- Lambertini shoes, old Simplex, Gnutti hubs, GB '531' steel stem, tandem stoker stem, vintage 'Milton' 3/32' chain, Avocet BB cups, etc. More to come over the next few days- my new shop space is almost ready, and I am trimming my inventory before I start setting it up. Look for seller name curmudgeon1957*. I will also be posting pics of my completed project bikes over the next week or so- 1964 JRJ, 1982 Mondia 'Super' cyclocross bike (thanks to Matt Gorski!), mid-70's Motobecane 'Le Champion', 1978 Geoff Butler track bike, and our 1978 Gitane 'Audax' tandem, so keep an eye out for those.
