I think that the general motto for eBay (and I am a junkie myself) is "caveat emptor." I don't see how it can be otherwise in a system open to everyone. Sort of like complaining about the quality of information available on the Internet -- it's up to the consumer to sift the facts from the "data." Nobody should put more into an eBay purchase than they can afford to lose.
