Assenmacher's in Swartz Creek is perhaps and hour and a half away ... a bit far, but a nice shop with some vintage minds, and still owned and operated b y renown builder Matt Assenmacher. Talk to Tom Sanders, he is "in the in" wit h them, and can tell you how to go about asking to view the good schtuff! Her e is some basic info, and a map: http://www.insiderpages.com/b/3716336564

There certainly must be some shops in Grand Rapids, as the Rapid Wheelmen (a s in, fast in Grand Rapids) is a 37 year old and prolific club, but I have no idea where the shop(s) might be, or what content can be found. You might be

able to find out through the RW webpages, here: http://www.lmb.org/rapidwheels/

Hope that helps...
