I'll agree with the people who have written in to me to say that there is some interest in outing stuff on ebay for "research" purposes or just to oggle nice machinery. What I don't take is the ebay interest and flashing which really reads "my bike/collection is worth this or that amount of bucks". Or "look at my ebay listing". Long, complex discussion...
I'll out one because it's dirt cheap. At the moment I have it, so you must think I'm dumb. To an extent you are right. But the kid's selling it are ok, so I think they deserve a chance. What is it ? A complete bike. And a porteur too. OK, you haven't the time or the means to lift the bike out of France ? Why bother lifting a bike. It has a Philippe stem/combo on it, and a magnificient Idéale alloy railed saddle which the sellers are willing to remove from the bike and ship. It's always beat me that bikes have to be pulled apart for people to bid on the desirable parts put online. Just ask 'em to remove the bits you want ! I need the porteur, not necessarily the saddle. As things stand, I get the lot for 30 euros. Anybody buys the bike for the saddle or else, I'm having the rest at a sensible price, and fitting another saddle on it. Obviously, I would prefer to have a bike, a rare and desirable alloy rail idéale and a philippe combo for thirty euros...
I'll be interested to see what happens here... I think there is 24 hours left or something short...
