I believe it was mid/late '50s. There should be a date stamped on the rear hub.

This was sort of a knock-off of the Schwinn Corvette, designed to be a cross between a traditional English 3-speed and a balloon tire cruiser. These were designated "middleweights" but were never very popular, as they basically incorporated the worst features of the two different styles of bikes.
