Subject: [CR]Belated Introduction / Paris Sport Info

Hello All,
I am sorry for the belated introduction. I had posted a question about Paris Sport bikes late last month and want to thank all who answered. I'm Dan Craven from Albany NY, and I'm a cycling hobbyist who has been riding and wrenching through mid-life (crisis?).
I obtained the Paris Sport in a deal with a former shop owner who sold me all of his left over stuff. Tools, parts, frames, rotten tires, skiis, ALL of it. The stock had been well picked over - very little Campy left - but ultimately the tools alone were worth it.
So now I'm having great time building wheels, fixing old bike and learning all about Paris Sport history. One of the questions I had asked about the P.S. was what the initials on the fork crown stood for. No one seemed to know the answer to that one. I was lucky enough to run across Mike Fraysse on eBay and asked him. Here is his reply: "The LA stands for LaPorte, the maker of the crowns. His first name was Rene. He also was the inventor of the crows foot wheel spoking system."
My Paris Sport track bike will likely end up on eBay, too. Even though the bike will be gone, I'll still be hanging around CR. -dan
