I agree with so far what we carried on our bikes in the 40s 50s.. A PUMP (Inflator) was important. no air gauge in those days, pump it pump it till it PINGS! I never used bottles or cages. PLENTY of PUBS.(H)Ave a pint Mate! "Guiness is GOOD for you " right! Cyclometer I agree the tick tick drove me bonkers, couldn't see the bloody thing anyway in the rain with me cape on. (was on more that off!) ( think in 1951 summer was on a Thursday) maybe a Friday but was that 1950? Bells for time trials had to be ON. along with all black kit.But ride we did and race we did.
