Several CR members have said the same. Evidently they have better eyes than I, or can count higher than their fingers and toes allow, unlike myself. It would be possible to make a 39T SR ring, but the result would be wierd enough to make the Hi-E stuff I was discussing earlier today look boring. So evidently "Alpine" is either an aftermarket ring, or just a name pantagraphed into a Campy ring.
In bidding, I was discounting the dubious information about the rings, and the bullhorn bars (anyone interested in the bars and stem?), but this seems a pretty good price for a complete Campy SR equiped 50th Anniversary frame in my size. Not dirt cheap, but pretty good.

Just bought this 50th Anniversary Schwinn Paramount on eBay:
But I can't figure out what the Campy "Alpine" crankset is. The seller claims it is 53-39 chainwheels on what appear to be Campy SR arms. It will be interesting to see how one accomplishes this. Anyone ever heard of "Alpine" rings for SR cranks?

Count the teeth in the photo, there appear to be about 42, as per usual. What Alpine refers to is the name pantographed around the big ring.
