"Several CR members have said the same. Evidently they have better eyes than I, or can count higher than their fingers and toes allow, unlike myself. It would be possible to make a 39T SR ring, but the result would be wierd enough to make the Hi-E stuff I was discussing earlier today look boring. So evidently "Alpine" is either an aftermarket ring, or just a name pantagraphed into a Campy ring.

In bidding, I was discounting the dubious information about the rings, and the bullhorn bars (anyone interested in the bars and stem?), but this seems a pretty good price for a complete Campy SR equiped 50th Anniversary frame in my size. Not dirt cheap, but pretty good.

Regards,

Jerry Moos Big Spring, TX"

I tried counting teeth of inner ring. Difficult from pic but looks like 41-42 to me.
