Hi Mark of Down Under and CR listees, I think Colnago's that have been repainted, make it more difficult to gauge an exact date.

guys, guys, guys. It's an early colnago super. Pre-dating the playing-card graphics most likely. All the braze-ons were added when it was repainted at some point. A quick look at the lugs confirms this easily. Not to mention the divots in the crown. That's a standard feature of early Colnagos. A feature not seen after 1972 or 1973. I've seen pics of another one of these, of late-60s origin. the shape of the cutouts is a dead give-away that it's pre-1970. When exactly? Beats me. But that's one of the earliest Colnagos I've seen. I always thought most of those early bikes stayed in Italy. It's interesting that one made it as far as New Zealand.
