Hi Jack ... welcome!

Did you try yet to find John Warnock, at or through the old China Creek Velodrome? He could probably answer both the builder and original finish questions, and perhaps cite a more accurate year as well.

Good luck, and hope to see more posts from you in the future!

(Oh, by the way ... your post was exemplary, but you omitted your city, province, and country from your sign-off. These are required for all posts to the list (in addition to your actual first and last name, as you wrote), to help eliminate viciousness through anonymity. :)

Hello everyone. This is my first post, so some info about myself is in order.

My name is Jack Jutson, I'm a 21 year old student living in Vancouver, Canada. Recently, my younger brother and I have become very enthusiastic about track cycling and we've been kind of trying to force our dad into a mid-life crisis. He's been cycling since he was 17 and had a successful track racing stint for a few years, so he's been very supportive of our new interest.

Anyway!

I just recently bought an unmarked track bike from Craigslist and I need some help finding out who made it. The more research I do, the more i'm thinking it's a Brian Rourke, but let me know what you all think.

First of all, some pictures:

The guy who sold it to me said he didn't know the maker and the original owner resprayed it that lovely colour you see in the pictures. He also added his own lettering to spell GUMBY. The original badge was lost somewhere along the way and all that's left of it is a small glue patch and some holes.

This is the ad from the original owner. Note that I have changed some of the parts over since I got it.

"Late 70's era track bike, 531 Reynolds tubing, 23" frame, Campagnolo crankset and seatpost, Sugino chainring, Cinelli bars, Tioga stem, Girard Regal Saddle, Maillard Normandy hubs, Kyokuto Pro Ace pedals. This bike won many races at the old China Creek Velodrome ridden by local ace, John Warnock."

And the final puzzle piece I have is the serial number: 93680

Hopefully this is enough information to figure something out. I already emailed Brian Rourke with all this info to see if he could identify it as his own.

Ultimately, I would like to find the maker, buy a decal set and respray it the original colour.

Thanks for reading! This means a lot to me.

Jack Jutson
