the ones i have are box -sectioned. annodized dark, not my favorite color, actually. but the wheels really are great. i think i do remember the tires i could hardly get off and on were panaracers... Contis are tight, but i can do it without breaking any levers. i always ride small tires, 23s or maybe 25s at
the most.
