A recent acquisition, (80's Nishiki Riviera GT touring) which had been neglected and left outside, cleaned-up nicely but frequent front wheel pings and pops are disconcerting (not syncronized with rpm). Could corroded zinc-plated spokes and nipples be the cause? Oiled them but still doing it although somewhat diminished. Rebuilt hub and headset too. Why not also happening at rear?
