This is an auction that I was watching with interest for several reasons. First off this is the only example of this style frame from Rauler that I have seen come up for auction. Years ago Richard Sachs mailed me a Rauler brochure to copy and that brochue showed this very lugset, however, I don't believe many, if any, where imported to the US. Also, this frame has the same fork crown and bottom bracket as my fancy lugged Rauler. I suspect that in the years to come that we will see a few rare Raulers such as this one and the model that I have come out of the basements and onto the auction blocks. If this frame were my size I would have come away the winner of the auction. And although it wasn't my size I did put in a bid in hopes of put this frame in the hands of a CR list member at the Cirque. Too bad that the frame will remain in Germany! Thanks to the many CR list members who pointed this auction out to me.
