Just a follow up on Joel's Copake report,,, Yes it was overcast and did sprinkle a bit. The crowd was smaller than previous years, but the usual cast of characters were in attendance, and I think we all had fun.

I have to say that no one looks like they're having more fun than Curtis though,,,, his impromtu cook out smelled great and looked even better. We had to leave at noon to cross over the mountain to get to my folks place in Ma.for lunch, otherwise I would have accepted his generous invitation to lunch. Thanks Steve Kinne for the sweater loan,,, we still owe you that toasted ham and cheese on a hard roll.

There were some cool bikes there as Joel mentioned, I really liked Mark Hoffman's original '38 or so ladies Schwinn bike with very cool fenders, especially the front..boy was I tempted to buy it. It still had the hat and rings on the seat tube, very sweet. Sam had a pretty nice PX10 complete with long cage Simplex super Lj derailleur. Geoff Rogers bought a pretty cool '40s Raleigh with rod brakes in pretty fair shape.. I saw Eric E. walking around with a few handfuls of stuff,,, The preview for the auction had an amazing aray of early vintage pieces in it.

I purchased a NOS-NIP timewarp set of Simplex bar end shifters from the guy in the van parked right next to us, also a set of flint catchers from the same place....thats all,,,, er um, honest honey...( Hey, I was much better than some of the other guys don't you know???)

I also sold a bunch of extras,,,, Including a set of brakes to who I don't remember???? He paid me for them, put em back on the table to chat for a while,,, then walked off with out them. I noticed them when I got home and unpacked the car. If you're on the list and can identify them,,, let me know and we'll hook up.
