Hi CR folks,

Starting to get some stuff together for the exciting Cirque auction! The auction has always treated me very well - sold some things, bought some things, and had lots of $$'s go to charity - so if you have a big ticket item don't hold back.

In the goodie bin for the Cirque, there is a Vitto watter bottle NOS, a REG Blue Campagnolo NOS waterbottle (like the ones sold recently on ebay), Schmidt E6 headlight, a Campy Rally early version (slender upper body) which is appropriate for your 1973 NR bike for which your legs are getting a bit tired of the big gears!

Another neat item will be a pair of 1978 wheels that are NOS takeoffs from a Raleigh Professional. The rear rim was damaged, so an NOS similar Mavic rim was hand laced onto the otherwise perfect hub and spokes. So if you need a late 70's 6sp tubular wheelset that is perfect for show this is it!

Reserves on most of these items are reasonably low (or non-existant). If I'm dragging stuff from Colorado to sell, I'm bringing it to sell - not to have the items enjoy a scenic cross country road trip.

I'm sure the pile of items for auction will get larger - these are just a few things that come to mind!

Thanks in advance to the auction gang for the great job I'm sure they will do in the comming days.

\r?\n>

\r?\n> ATTENTION !!!

\r?\n>

\r?\n>

\r?\n> Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, Children of all ages!!!

\r?\n> Plans have progressed for this year's Cirque du Cyclisme

\r?\n> Charity Auction and it looks like it will be THE BEST yet!

\r?\n>

\r?\n> I know you've been looking in yer drawers and in those old

\r?\n> cardboard boxes under your bed for the stuff dreams WERE made of.

\r?\n> Remember when ya bought that beautiful shinny imported aluminum bit?

\r?\n> Well,..... now she's used. BUT NOT used up! It's NOW time to recycle

\r?\n> her at Our very own CIRQUE CHARITY AUCTION.

\r?\n> I, John T.Pergolizzi, am Auction organizer and chief

\r?\n> auctioneer. Matty Bowne will act as auctioneer's 1st assistant and Gabe

\r?\n> and Rita Romeu are chief $ collectors. Guest auctioneers will be taking

\r?\n> up the slack as my voice goes South. Jamie Swan is auction consultant

\r?\n> and official tag writer. Yes,

\r?\n> each item will be tagged and numbered. Mike Schmidt will be Chief Guy

\r?\n> Friday; doing every thing we need him to to help out (he WILL BE running

\r?\n> around like the chicken w/o a head!).

\r?\n> This year's event is the third anniversary of The Auction is an

\r?\n> official

\r?\n> Cirque event. John Slawta of Landshark has donated a custom built frame,

\r?\n> Joe Bell (Giuseppe Campanello) a beautiful paint job, and Bilinky Cycles

\r?\n> will announce another generous donation. And Peter Gilbert of Cane

\r?\n> Creek, as always, is SUPER generous with handouts and donations.

\r?\n> Commemorative posters from the NAHBS

\r?\n> signed by THE MOST important people in the lugged steel World will be

\r?\n> available. And that's only the beginning!

\r?\n>

\r?\n> Take a look at our new venue:

\r?\n>

\r?\n> http://www.cirqueducyclisme.com

\r?\n>

\r?\n> Thanks Wayne for making our fun possible!

\r?\n>

\r?\n> Proceeds this year will be divvied up 75%/25% to Operation smile

\r?\n> Sclerosis Society (http://www.nationalmssociety.org/index.aspx) in

\r?\n> memory of our departed friend Sheldon Brown.

\r?\n> PLEASE be generous. Many, many sellers made very generous

\r?\n> donations at the last four annual auctions to benefit the Make a Wish

\r?\n> Foundation in 2004 ($1,856.00), Operation Smile in 2005 (over

\r?\n> $4,000.00), in 2006 a $6,500.00 donation again to Operation Smile! And

\r?\n> last year we somehow managed to raise a

\r?\n> whopping $11,500.00 for Operation Smile. ELEVEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED

\r?\n> DOLLARS! HOLY Merckx sweat!!!

\r?\n> Since 1982, Operation Smile's volunteers have

\r?\n> provided free facial reconstructive surgery to tens of thousands of

\r?\n> children and young adults in 25 developing countries and the United

\r?\n> States. 90,000 children have been treated. 87% of cash and in-kind

\r?\n> donations go directly to programs helping children. Operations cost

\r?\n> $3,000 here, but only $250 overseas. That's 42 smiling faces last year

\r?\n> my

\r?\n> friends!

\r?\n> I thank you all for the pleasure of making this auction

\r?\n> happen.

\r?\n>

\r?\n> Please remember that this year, admission to The Auction

\r?\n> includes a lavish desert and coffee buffet located at a deluxe venue

\r?\n> wonderfully decorated for our enjoyment. Make sure you save some room

\r?\n> to spend and help raise more $ for charity.

\r?\n> great time! Look through those boxes and bins for all your old junk,

\r?\n> unused frames, too BIG

\r?\n> bicycles and other bits that you would like to pass on to the next user
