So, my second post in quick succession, then I am out for 24 hours at least . Be thankful for small mercies, fellow listmembers.

Just finished "restoring" an utter beauty which rides fabulously. So what ? Some may remeber a year back I kicked up a rumpus about NOIB bikes. The on es which, however beautiful and well built, are deemed unworthy because Not Of Interest Buckwise (a much used acronym in the dealer world).

Down to business, the thing and various stages of it's torture in my cackha nded fists is at

For once, I think the visit is worth it, it's no prank or joke. A bike of r are beauty (to my eyes at least), and a most fabulously fast ride. Classic design, lightweight (very light for the timeframe), and extremely comfortab le, another issue I have. Reading the latest issue of the Jan Heine magazin e, I could only agree with his conclusions on comfort as an important eleme nt of speed, and fork curve near droput being a a major factor. Especially as this bike meets those criteria. Modern geometry is fast on stop and go s purts, it is hopeless unless you are doped up to your eyeballs or an except ional athelete able to putt out tremendous wattage on an unrelenting basis, and ignore violent jolts and shocks. Stop pedaling, and you loose your mom entum. Also, whether you refer to non-suspended weight (a pretty loose noti on on a non-suspended vehicle) or just comfortable design, they had it righ t back in the 1930's and 40's. You only have to try a properly designed bike once to be convinced.
