These do use different size bearing than the steel axle Superleggeri or the NR pedals. My understanding is that you can use the steel axles only if you change out the bearing cups. I had some problem, forget what, with some eBay SR pedals a couple of years ago. It might have been a bit of a task obtaining the proper bearing cups, plus I understand that changing them is not a trivial task. So I returned the pedals for a refund.

Here is my pedal problem.? I have a a pair of Campagnolo Super Record pedals with titanium spindles.? The "S" pedal spindle was broken off a 1/4 inch inside the housing on the crank side?so standard spindle removal procedures could not be used.? Since the titanium back then was "soft",? I drilled the remaining pedal shaft out a bit and then put a regular screw drive blade into the hole.??After some persuasion, the?spindle cracked around the outer lip?and separated from the spindle shaft.? The remaining spindle came out the dust cap end of the pedal.? No bearings were lost during the surgery.?? It is my understanding that the Super Record pedals could only use titanium spindles with?different bearings and cones from the SL pedals.? Is this correct?? Do I need to search for a new titanium spindle (probably rare), an orphan "S" pedal or offer my "D" Super Record pedal for sale??? I would like this to have a happy ending.?? Replys, ideas? and /or solutions are encouraged and welcome.
