I saw Tom Sanders' reference to the Merckx jersey auction, so I thought I would chime in in case any of you are interested or curious as to its authenticity. The jersey belonged to a long time friend of mine who passed away not long ago. I have sold much of his cycling items for the family. There were team bikes from 7-11 and Motorola, several team jerseys etc from his relationships over the years with the teams based in the Denver/Boulder area. This Merckx jersey was signed a few years ago at a shop in Boulder called Pro Peloton (I think it's still there?). It is indeed authentic, but I have no paperwork or anything to accompany it. Along with the Merckx jersey is a listing for a ShaverSport Coors Classic jersey from the mid eighties. Also the real deal. Happy to answer any questions that I can, and would love to keep these 'in the family' so to speak, but obligated to do the best for my friend's family, and that means going to ebay with it.
