Clyde, I also own a 1980/81 Team Pro and managed to get the german catalogue for that year. The specs state the bike came with low flange Record hubs and Mavic SSC dark anodized rims and a Maillard 700 compact 7 speed freewheel. No specs for the chain, but I think a Sedis would go nicely with the Maillard freewheel. Following is a link to the section of the yahoo team pro group, where I posted scans of this catalogue. I do not know whether this links works without being a member of this group, but give it a try. If it does not work I could send you some big files as far as your mail server allows this. I think the specs are correct also for an american sold bike.

A lot of listmembers are also member of that yahoo group and it is always a good source for information.

Friends: Several months ago I scored a quite nice 1980 / 81 Raleigh Pro (Pat 1980

derail). Getting ready to rebuild it and get it ready for Vintage rides. Seems to be all original with the exception of Chain /Freewheel and Rims. Advice on what it may have come with on the showroom floor would be appreciated. I am guessing Gold Regina FW, wide 6 speed, and Chain (not drilled) I am guessing some form of Mavic tubular rim with ferrules?

Puttered around with it a bit this evening, it is in quite stunning condition. I am guessing original owner put on a wide range FW, and thus

had to replace chain, and also clincherized it (MA-40's). After that did

not ride it much.

Did a 30 -ish mile ride after work today on my 1978 Raleigh pro - now commuter bike. I felt like crap and am not sure why. Probably just not eating right during the day. Surely the '78 (in rough condition) is not jealous of the 80 - 81??
