Subject: [CR]Fixed Cup on the Left Side??
I just bought a quite nice Zebrakenko Olympic Ace from Craigs List
yesterday. Nice orange and green. Posted a photo at
http://www.flickr.com/photos/28895540@N02/?saved=1 . The seller said
that he bought it about 15 years ago from the owner of a now defunct
bike shop. The owner supposedly built it up for his own use (which
would explain the odd mix of components). Because the price was so
reasonable I didn't really examine the bike when I picked it up. Last
night I noticed that the bottom bracket fixed cup is on the left and
adjustable cup is on the right! The cups are English thread.
I havn't dismantled it yet but I'm wondering if anyone has ever seen
this. The only explanation that I can think of is a factory error
when tapping the bb (but that seems like it would be hard to screw
up).
