I think the higher level DuoPar was titanium.

As for Phil Wood disks, I can hardly believe I paid something like $150 for one in 1979. I spent quite a lot of effort setting mine up, to avoid the catastrophes taht others had reported. I even made my own torque-arm for the thing, so that it would be positioned more effectively than with the stock arm. So ours actually worked quite well for a many miles. Then one day, on a perfectly flat road near Paris, it started to make strange noises - as though the friction disk was becoming unbalanced. I took this as a warning sign...
