...but I'm guessing it was 20 or more years old by then. Fresh from a local garage attic, by way of Craigslist:

What's the make? Who knows -- probably the best clue left on it is the dual-plate fork crown. Badge is gone, and the rapidly flaking paint may already be a 70-year-old repaint.

28-inch single-tube wheels, with Gillette Ambassador tires in pretty good condition. The rims are steel, not wood. Front hub is stamped BRAMPTON and ENGLAND, with a nice oil port -- spins for many minutes on the rack. Rear hub is coaster-brake, no markings uncovered yet.

She's a single speed, skip tooth: 22 by 10.

Not ridden yet -- we'll need to get tires glued on and inflated.

Commentary and educated (or at least humorous) guesses on the maker are most welcome.
