Hi Tom,

If you go to:

http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v396/hadendowa/Claud%20Butler/?action=v iew&current=CB.jpg

you'll see a scan of the 1939 catalogue page for your model. (In the same album, there are also some photos of my 1938 Claud Butler Continental Cla ssique, in its original two-colour finish, partially stripped and await ing a service and rebuild, preserving the original finish).

Your model was available as a frameset only, so a purchaser could have fi tted just about any lightweight kit available at that time, but from the catalogue page, you can see what was specified. Some of the items aren't clear from the catalogue, so I suggest the following where the catalogue isn't specific as to make or model.

Chainset appears to be the Williams C1000, similar to the common C34, b ut with slimmer cranks. They turn up on eBay from time to time.

Hubs are listed as "CB", so no help there, but Claud Butler's 1939 acce ssories catalogue lists Bayliss Wiley, BSA, Constrictor, Solite, Ai rlite, and Exceltoo Duralumin. FB's were available from other suppliers at the time.

As far as wheel rims are concerned, Constrictor Conloys would also be sui table.

Pedals - Webb, Constrictor BOA, Lyotard, BSA, Chater Lea.

Seatpin - Reynolds alloy or a domed top steel.

Tyres will depend on whether your frame was built for 26 x 1 1/4" or 27 x 1 1/4" wheels. If 26 inch, you will have to use whatever you can get in t he size - search the internet; if 27, there's more choice.

The eBay sellers "hilarystone" and "oldcyclebits" are worth watching for al l of these parts.

Hope this helps!
