Pursuit of a Light weight bicycles. I wonder at times when out riding my steel lugged bicycle how much faster I could be if only I rode with less tools, pump, repair kits. Today I found out. I left my frame pump behind my mistake. I was doing a ride that included a couple long climbs. With out that pump weighing how many ounces I flew up those hills with speed I haven't had since I was forty. So what else should I abandon? The tire repair kit. The crescent wrench. The cell phone to call for help when I am stuck out in the middle of a ride with a bike needing repair and nothing onboard to repair it. But up to that point will I be faster. Yes a big Yes
