Subject: [CR]Thanks for all the tips, and an ebay bike-buying complaint

Dear CR folks,

Thanks very much for all the detailed and insightful emails you all have sent, both on- and off-list. I will be replying to each one of you individually, but want to publicly thank my thoughtful and well- informed correspondents here in cyberspace.

Reading your emails is as informative as hanging out with Dennis at Stone's Cyclery. (All that I'm missing are the smells of English leather and old grease, fondling all of the NOS and period frames, parts and merchandise, and arguing with Dennis over local politics. :-)

I have been noticing that far too many ebay sellers (not those in the CR community, of course), especially here in the USA, do not seem to know how to sell bikes or parts, and do not even know the basics of bike fit, measuring frames properly, etc.. Having to instruct sellers on how to measure frame tubes, the differences between center-to-top and center-to-center seat tubes, and how to measure freewheel and hub threading gets really, really old. (rant, rant, rant...)

Does CR have any basic info for ebay sellers that could be linked to or referred to easily for this purpose? Perhaps it would be worthwhile to compile something, if a reference does not already exist. (Maybe ebay would appreciate such a compilation, too?)

Appreciatively yours,
