Subject: [CR] Cirque Auction 2008 VERY SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!!! NEW Total: $22,500.00

Dearest List,

It is a genuine privilege to make the following announcement:

I have just this afternoon received an email from a very, very good friend of ours, Andrew Israel; fellow CR member and Cirque attendee.

Andrew, an old friend of BVVW member Steve Klein, approached me the evening of this years Cirque Banquet with an UNBELIEVABLE offer: Andrew works for a major U.S. bank that has a matching funds donation program and he asked me if I would like to have him apply for a matching $10,000 donation of the monies raised at The Auction the night before. UNBELIEVABLE!!!

It's taken a bit of time to get through all the red tape, but we have spoken to our friends at Operation Smile and they have today received the $10,000.00 matching donation check from the corporation. BELIEVE IT!

This corporate matching donation increases the total amount raised by The Cirque Charity Auction for 2008 to $22,500.00 !!! That's over $20,000.00 to Operation Smile ( http://www.operationsmile.org http://www.operationsmile.org/ . ) and $2,047.00 to

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society ( http://www.MSandYOU.org http://www.msandyou.org/ ) .

To max out the matching donation from the corporation, I had to give less to M.S. percentage wise then we had planed; my executive decision.

A few of you out there I told knew of this possibility, and we were all on pins and needles waiting. I did not want to make a general announcement prematurely in case the donation deal fell through. Thanks for keeping our secret.

No disappointments now; It's time to let everyone know and CELEBRATE!

I will be posting letters from Operation Smile and the M.S. Society, along with copies of the checks and other pertinent records of The Auction/money raising of 2008 to the Wool jersey/ auction file in the next week or so.

I thank youse one and all on behalf of all of the children that you have helped over the years through your generosity. You have made their lives better.

It's really quite amazing what some old greasy bicycle parts can do!
