We had our local time trial this weekend, tied into out wurstfest, so the beer was flowing. Two things happened, first lance armstrong showed up for his first race out of retirement. This brought huge crowds and press coverage to a typically small local race. The second and probably more important item was the large numbers of non cyclist with their children, estimates ran as high as 10K. This can only be good for cycling. One highlight was 3 teams of junior (12-13} time trialers, who were on lugged steel bicycles. All things considered it was a big deal for our small town, and central texas cycling interest.
