While no authority on Bianchi's; or any other vintage bike for that matter, I have a early 1961 bike [161066} which may provide a double check on the head badge at least. It's head badge is identical with the FS. bikes head b adge. I currently have it stripped for a repaint and can say that it appear s to have no primer. This is probably due to the "flamboyant" paint which w as applied to the vast majority of these bikes. The paint on my bike was a transparent medium blue over a silver base.I also have a 1964 frame with ni ce original paint which shows the same treatment only in green over the sil ver. The head badge was missing when I acquired this frame. Is it possib le the "blue" paint on the FS. bike is actually blue gray primer which woul d have been used with solid colour {non flamboyant} paint? P.S the 1 961 bike is actually a competition {steel crank set} but appears to be iden tical; with one small detail excepted the small hole /oilier port at the back of the head tube, with the 1964 which is definitely marked as a Sp ecialissima.
