The best stripper is made by Green Products in Richmond Calif. They make a paste type called "59H" and a liquid type "Liquid 96". For frames, 59H is what you need. You can soak small parts in the Liquid 96. Acetone works well to clean the remnants of the stripper off. Tape over holes in the frame so that no stripper gets inside the tubes. Wear a respirator and use rubber gloves which are designed for stripping! Chris ioakimedes Fairfax, Ca.

Andrew, My first choice would be Captain Lee's spray strip. Second choice would be Kwik Kleen Aircraft stripper. My third choice would be Morton, and last but not necessarily the least would be Jasco. All of them are up to the task, just remember to protect yourself. It's nasty stuff.

I just received a 1974 Raleigh Track frame. It has a horrible red paint job, and some of the chrome has been painted over. I want to first remove the paint from the chrome, and then the paint as a whole.
What is the best solution/ chemical to remove paint?
If I got the frame sand blasted, would that destroy the chrome? Or can I protect it?
I've never stripped a frame, so I'm trying to get opinions.
