Don't know anything about TREKs but there are photos of a 970 at: *www.vintage-trek.com/Trek_gallery.htm*<http://www.vintage-trek.com/Trek_gallery.htm>

The owner says of the details:

Details: The head badge is a glued on; the cstay protector reads 970; it has two bottle boss sets; TREK is cast in the bb shell; two tiny allen screws hold the cables in the slots under the bb shell.

Careful on this one. It is obviously a repaint. Wrong color, no head badge, wrong seat tube panel. More importantly the serial number does not match what is on the Vintage Trek website that I can tell. Also, this one has a pump peg on the back of the head tube and, I could be wrong, but I don't believe the 970 did. It's a Trek. But a 970?
