I think this is actually a 950, the predecessor of the 970. It's early 80s vintage, as evidenced by the Shimano UF dropouts and TREK-badged Cinelli bottom bracket shell. These were only used on the 900 series (Columbus) and 700 series (Reynolds 531) frames. Yes, Cinelli did make these shells for Trek for a couple years in the early 80s. Some were marked Cinelli, later ones TREK, and then we changed to Tim Isaac's design with the cast-in cable guides under the shell and VW-bug type split windows on the sockets. We had problems with breakage with the UF dropouts, so later frames got Campy 1010Bs.

Paint looks like one of the original color schemes for the 950, although as the seller notes the "Riverniciato" decal implies that it has been repainted. Note that this 970 example has the same color scheme: http://www.vintage-trek.com/Trek_galleryTG970.htm
