Hi all. The overall profile is similar to the Durax on p40 of California Cycle Co. Catalog NO.38 [Available, i believe, from Chuck Schmidt's Velo Retro.] That one has 4 flutes giving it a sort of Maltese cross profile. They also had one w/ "Regular Type of Flutings " - presumably similar to yours. It was available in 6-3/4" or 7" and 46 or 48 1/8" chainwheels or 23 or 24 3/16" skip tooth chainwheels. The 'Regular" model weighed 29 oz. per set. These were clearly marked "Durax" on the face near the axle hole. To paraphrase David Steinberg: SOME cottered cranks all look alike. French pedal threads would strongly suggest a French origin, and they're likely French, anyway, since the French made so many of these. They're very lovely, whatever they are. Good luck.
