Mike,

I have a Confente track frame here for touch-up which is what we believe to be one of the "prototype" lesser expensive frames. They decided to s ave some time (odd, since the spade cutouts on Confente lugs and BB were done by pantograph and took all of 2 minutes to finish by hand) by just drilling 2 holes in the lugs instead. I guess the savings was in the ex pense of the engraving of each lug. Obviously the holes are on the top s ide of the lug. It isn't hard for me to imagine drilling a few holes on the underside of the lug once in a while or even just once for grins or whatever. If the repair is obvious, then it's a repair; but the holes co uld possibly be original.

Sorry to interupt the current thread regarding bad behavior by who ever to so-and-so , but an actual bike question has emerged.

I have here a Confente frame that without a doubt has received some "rep air". On the underside of the upper headlug, there are two holes of the same style that typically appear on the lower portion of the seatlug (b ig hole and little hole - facing to the front of the bike). I can't rec all if I've seen this upper headlug drilling on other Confente frames. Does anyone have an opinion on this?
