I hereby volunteer to help organize a CR evening on Saturday night. A few locals have been working with DW and a near downtown neighborhood to host after-set parties. The neighborhood is Fountain Square approx one and one half miles from the show venue and a little less from the major hotels. Google Fountain Square Indianapolis for the neighborhood web site. Within the business district of Fountain Square, we would have choice of Italian (3 different locations), Greek, Classic American in a wine bar or café setting, bar-b-que, Thai, Egyptian, Mexican and Chinese as well as a couple of hipster bars. There is a bike shop, artists, duck pin bowling as well as several watering holes for everyone's entertainment.

I would offer as a suggestion the wine bar (Deano's Vino also has a great beer list) which could accommodate 50 to 60 ruffians in a very nice space with a classic menu (mid-range price) with a very good moderate price wine list, possibly music, and would be fairly flexible to work with. They have a separate bar area too.

There is also a space where we could retreat after dinner for grappa and roller races if so desired. The neighborhood has a fairly high number of young hipsters who ride fashionista fixie bikes along with having the requisite tattoos. Probably the closest thing to Portland in Indianapolis.

Don has done a remarkable job keeping the builders in place for this first foray into the middle lands. We want to help show everyone that along with the show Indianapolis can be a pretty fun place. Fountain Square wants to show NAHBS attendees that we support DW and the entire community with a very good time. I welcome your comments and feel free to contact me off list with any suggestions. Indy Welcomes you.

I live within walking distance of the convention center and have a spare bedroom and sleeping bag space that I may consider trading for classic bits as well (first Confente 56cm, must be original, not counterfeit gets the space) Must like dogs as well. :-)
