Welcome to the CR list John, and THANKS for having the acuity to sign off as required! (I wish everyone would similarly cooperate with this oh-so simple yet important step.)

And good luck with your parts search. I had not heard of Clyde of Dagenham... Maybe when you are done, you could take some digital pics and we can add that marque to the CR web site?

Hello,I'm new here, this will be my first post to the list. ? I understand that cross posting is a no-no on this forum.? In t he last week I have tried a couple other vintage lightweight forums with th is query but to no avail.? I have recently acquired, from an old frien d who has passed, a Clyde (Dagenham, UK) ?lightweight, single speed, b ike. ?I believe that my friend may have had this bike from new. ? From the brake components (GB Hiduminium side pull) I believe the bike to be late 40's. ?Wheels are Mavic, Atom hubs, Lytalloy chainwheel and cr anks, Brooks seat. ?I am in the process of cleaning this bike up to ri de. ?The front wheel was somewhat bent and I have had that rectified t o usable condition. ?The brake pivot bolt for the front brakes is bugg ered and before I undertake to turn a new on on the lathe I would like to s ee if I can't find a replacement from someones spares bin. ?If breakin g a complete brake assembly is unthinkable then I would certainly look at b uying the whole thing - I need the proper nuts and washers anyway.

The part I am looking for can be viewed here
