Subject: [CR] Questions about Ideal 6 saddle

I rehabilitated a found and rarely-ridden Ideal 6 saddle. I used water soak, blocking, and treated both sides with olive oil. (Yes, advice from a Brit with the usual dreams of Tuscany, no doubt.). What next?

If he cracks were in calluses, I know they could continue to the depth of the skin. What about in leather saddles? Through tanning, does the surface develop a susceptibility to cracks that are stopped by the rest of the 4mm of leather? How do riders here treat working saddles if the cracks would chafe,? Sand them out and re-oil?
