I sent an inquiry to the publisher about the availability in the US and received the following response:

At the moment we have no outlet in America so it can be ordered directly through us no problem. We post out items daily to the US and also have a very good Motorbook Shop customer in Seattle (www.books4cars.com) If a number of orders were clubbed together, the carriage charge would be considerably less, as you are probably aware. For a single book, it would cost £10.50 Airmail. Thank you for posting the info to your internet group. She was a great lady and talent and I was lucky enough to meet her in the mid-eighties.

Please ask if you have any further questions.

Just read Doug Fattic's post regarding Beryl Burton. Interesting timing, as I received the following e-mail from a most unusual non cycling related source. Thought I would pass it on. If this is old news to you all, forgive me.

Hello,

As a fellow cycling enthusiast/racer and member of the Warwickshire Roads Club, UK, I tried to source a copy of this title as I had heard what a great read it was. To my astonishment, I realised they were not available anymore, and if you could find a copy on the internet, the prices were extortionate. Consequently we (Mercian Manuals Ltd) investigated with the Burton family on the possibility of re-issuing the book. We are pleased to say that everybody is happy and this book is now available again. Please find attached the details and price and where to buy from etc...... If possible, could this be made known to the members of your club and maybe posted on your notice boards? If you require any further information, please don't hesitate to ask.

Best regards,
