If you were in my neck of the woods, I would offer to have you come over and I would help you build them yourself. I have already done this with many others. I suppose I am just one of the many CR list members who have built well over a 1000 wheels. Most people with this sort of experience can give you good instruction which will later turn out to be very useful as you ride. Perhaps there is somebody in the Lincoln, NE area that can help you? Any volunteers?

Also today, Manfred asked in a similar vein for a builder near his location in Lincolnshire, IL:

"This is not an exotic set up. Record hubs , SSC rims 14/15/14g spokes three cross. However, I want all of the li ttle details--pulling spokes are inbound, rim decals readable from the dr ive side, hub logo visible through the valve stem hole etc."

I have never been one to sweat the inconsequential details such rim decal direction or hub logo visibility, but these features are likewise very simple to look after on your own. With my own personal wheel building procedure, these details would not take more than perhaps one extra minute per wheel to achieve, so I once again say it is only logical to spend the short time necessary to learn how to build wheels yourself.

PS: I have recently come across a nice stockpile of Mavic SSC, GP4 and Champion du Monde, as well as Fiamme Ergal rims, so I suppose I will be building up some wheels for le cirque. :-)
