I'll ride anything if it is fun. But it saddens me to see young riders spending a fortune on the latest gee wiz only to find out later that crashes are really expensive, headsets last only 3 months in the spring, crankset bearings need replacing along with the chain, that belgian cobbles eat expensive designwheels for breakfast etc..
