What kind of Schwinn racing bike could you buy for $125 in 1965? and where might I see photos of such a bike on wooljersey or similar? (My searches are coming up with a few things so far but later.)
At a neighborhood dinner last night, the topic of cycling came up and one of my neighbors mentioned being crazy about cycle racing in his youth and having saved up as teenager to buy his fancy Schwinn racing bike for $125 in 1965. That seems to me like it would be a good bit of money in 1965. He sold the bike in college to pay for rent and didn't remember any thing about it, whether it was a Paramount for example.
