I haven't seen any such shoes on offer for many years but Lake might be persuaded to develop and import them IF there was sufficient demand.

Lake will never know if there is sufficient demand unless enough consumers contact Lake and request the Avocet/Bata type touring shoe (basically a trim lace-up athletic shoe with a stiff sole and NO cut out for cleats).

There are many "touring" or "recreation" shoes that are cycling specific (stiff sole) but have the capability to turn into clipless shoes just by removing a plate in the sole. So what is the realistic market for a shoe that lacks that capability?
